VIT University, profoundly known as VIT was started in 1984 by Honorable Shri.G.Viswanathan. He is founder chancellor of the University and a former parliamentarian. The sole aim of the University is to provide quality education on par with International Universities at an affordable cost .

About Phreak

Phreak 08 is a National Level Technical Symposium organised by School of Computing Sciences every year to encourage the future Computer Sciences Engineers across the country. Phreak is a meeting place of young engineers across the country and serves as a platform to discuss, share and learn about the latest and future technologies. More than 1500 future engineers every year meet and discuss on the futuristic trends in computer engineering and contribute their valuable part to the field of Computer Sciences. Phreak 08 (Oct 21-22) is back again with loads of competitions, paper, project discussions, panel discussions and more.

History of computing discipline at VIT University dates back to 1993 when the Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established to meet the demand for well-qualified computer professionals. Subsequently, the Departments of Computer Applications and Information Technology were established.

The School of Computing Sciences was conceived during the year 2004-05 and came into existence by consolidating achievements and core strengths of the aforesaid departments.
